Is our roof suitable for solar?
That is decided by the roof's direction, pitch, material and how much shade falls on it during the day. South facing yields most, but east and west work too – it shows once the roof has been looked at.
What decides the price of a system?
The price is driven by how many panels the roof takes, which inverter suits it and how much work the consumer unit needs. So it is set after the roof has been assessed, not before.
Solar panels or a heat pump first?
It depends on how the house is heated today. A house on direct electric heating or an old boiler often gains most from changing the heat source first, while a house that already has a heat pump gains more from panels.
How do grants and tax deductions work?
